Mr. Karden received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, cum laude, in 1973 from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and his Juris Doctor degree in 1976 from the University Of Miami School of Law in Coral Gables, Florida where he graduated on the Deans list. Mr. Karden joined our Firm in Dallas, Texas in 2009.

Mr. Karden is one of 52 attorneys in the State of Florida certified by the Florida Bar Association in Immigration and Nationality law and is the past-chair of the Florida Bar Immigration and Nationality law certification committee having served on the committee from 2006-2009. Mr. Karden has been recognized as an expert in immigration law by the Florida Courts and has lectured extensively in the area of immigration law to the Florida Bar, the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the Palm Beach County (Florida) Bar Association and other civic groups and organizations. In 2007 Mr. Karden was selected as the foreign nationals defense counsel for a special mock trial presentation at annual immigration seminar of the Florida Bar. Mr. Karden is head of the immigration litigation section which includes deportation/removal, detention, criminal immigration matters, bonds, appeals and asylum.

Mr. Karden, along with all of our attorneys, is licensed to practice U.S. Immigration Law in all 50 states. Mr. Karden is admitted to the Florida Bar and United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. Mr. Karden is also a member of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Western District of Tennessee and is a member of the U.S. Fifth and Eleventh Circuit Courts of Appeals. In addition to his practice in immigration matters and the United States Courts, Mr. Karden also has extensive experience in vacating criminal convictions of aliens who were not properly advised of the immigration consequences of plea agreements.
